Welcome.

I need another blog about like I need a hole in the head. But these past couple of weekends I've been a tiny bit obsessed with designing blog headers and finding FREE (FREE should always be capitalized.) backgrounds and templates.

That's truly how this blog came to be. But the more BFF Kim and I talked about it, we decided we needed a whole blog devoted to all things food...and frugal...and fitness...and FREE...and family fun...and well, whatever else we decide to throw in there.

It's a place for us to blog about all things related to making a home. Hence the title. Hungry Hungry Homemakers. Because honestly we both stay hungry. And not just hungry...but HUNGRY HUNGRY. Except when there's Starbucks or shrimp. In those cases we are more than likely visiting our porcelain throne.

Oh, and before we go any further, let's establish a definition for HOMEMAKER. On this blog, a homemaker is ANYONE who makes a home for their family. Consulting the dictionary...homemaker- One who manages a household, especially as one's main daily activity.

I don't know about you, but I manage my household among a multitude of other duties.

Kim and I are both homemakers. We make homes. It's just that they might look a little different.

I'm a single mom who in addition to working inside the HOME steps out into the big wide world and WORKS there too! Still a homemaker on this blog...

Kim is a married mom who recently resigned from her WORK outside the HOME, to focus on her WORK inside the HOME. And she teaches her boys inside the HOME too. Still a homemaker on this blog...

Now that I've got that out of the way, let me tell you who I am.

I'm Shanda.
Single mom.
Two kids.
Ages 11 and 7.
Not a great cook.
But a capable one.
I love FREE and almost FREE anything.
Coupon clipper.
Devoted to the
Mod Podge.
I like to try new things.

Now it's Kim's turn....Take it away, Kim!

OTHER than what SHANDA has already said I am just a simply all around fabulous individual! I love my boys, thirteen ( Oh, I cannot believe that I have a teenager!) and eleven.

I am a stampin' fool.

I have big hair when it is clean. That's why it always looks better the SECOND day.

I am creative.

I have rediscovered my love for COOKING and entertaining since I quit my paying job. I still have plenty of work but I just don't get paid for any of it now.

So that's us...The Hungry Hungry Homemakers (not Hippos)!

Come back to visit often...you never know what you might find!
